Volleyball Fraternity league FIJI A1 Vs. ATO A
Flag Fooball Week 2 El Duderino vs Burnhau5
Flag Football Week 3 Soup-a-Stars vs Farve Dollar Footlong
Volleyball Week 3 (8) Team Keith Stone vs (9)The Clams
This should be a very competitive game with both teams seeding being close. TKS has a nice warm up and stretch while The Clams arrive just moments before game time. TKS starts with the ball for the first set, but Sean Kelly of TKS cannot seem to get the ball over the net. Both teams also struggle to get going at first and the Clams get an early lead but that ends when Sean Kelly with a monstrous spike is able to get his team on the board. The first game is a back and forth game. TKS has several players who are very athletic and have great blocked shots and spikes. Matthew Duty of the Clams is able to keep his team in reaching distance with his nice blocked shots on several occasions. Ann Shomberg of TKS has excellent serving ability with her nice form. In the first game I believe Sean Kelly had about 4-5 spikes and Matthew Duty had about 5-6 blocked shots. However, that just was not enough to prevent TKS from pulling away and winning the first set 25-21.
The Clams start with the ball during the second set. Both teams still have trouble serving and getting the ball over the net. After a few minutes both teams start playing better and start having several good rallies. The score for the most part goes back and forth with TKS leading the way but The Clams are staying within a point or two until TKS scores six consecutive points with the help of Patrick Moxley, David Miller and Sean Kelly dishing up some spikes to keep the Clams from getting an advantage. Then I think TKS was getting a little excited and served a shot out of bounds, and then The Clams are able to get within two points of TKS, 16-14. TKS still had momentum, stretching their lead to 19-15. That’s when TKS just starts to pull away and it’s too much for The Clams to handle with Sean Kelly of TKS serving the winning point with an ace.
According to one of the players on TKS, “We put together a solid effort to get the job done, we felt pretty confident even though the game was close and I have faith in my team especially Sean Kelly. Yeah I thought it was going to be a close game because of how we both were seeded close together. We play the number 1 seed and we are pretty confident we’re going to win, because we are just awesome.”

Volleyball Week 2 AXO vs Never Back Down
Never Back Down gets to the courts early and does some stretching and talks about strategy, and has a good warm up. AXO arrives a just few minutes prior to game time. The players on Never Back Down look very athletic and very skilled so they will probably be a tough opponent because, according to one of the players on that team, they are the reining champions of 6 on 6 spring volleyball. Never Back Down starts with the serve 1st game. The first game starts out to be very competitive with both teams keeping it a close game, but once the score gets 8-8 Never Back Down just turns it up a notch, streaching the lead to 16-8. Then, with Jessie serving for Never Back Down they eventually win the first match 25-10.
Before the second game both teams talk strategy. AXO starts this game with the serve and they look much better this go-round, taking a 4-1 lead to start game two. Both teams have many long and good rallies. Then Never Back Down takes a 9-4 lead. However, this time AXO starts to make a comeback with Hopkins serving to make the score 9-7. I have a feeling Never Back Down won’t be backing down and letting the lead slip away. Just then they start pouring the heat on by tiring out AXO and winning this game 25-9.
Both teams played a very hard fought game and Alyssa Hopkins of AXO played good defensively during both games, diving on the floor for balls and saving points. She was outstanding in my opinion. In the first game I think the ball they were using was inflated a little too much and some of the players on AXO I think we are getting hurt. One of their players starting using their foot to kick the ball instead of hitting it with their hands because the ball was too hard. According to Julia Meyers of Never Back Down, all the girls on the team played volleyball in high school. She was very excited to be game of the week she also feels very honored to be GOTW as well.
Flag Football Week 1 The Mighty Ducks vs Antonio Chromartie Children
According to the weather report, it will be a bit on the cold side this evening with temperatures being 53 degrees, 10% chance precipitation 93% humidity and winds from SSW at 3 MPH. This is the first week of flag football. This game is between Antonio Chromartie Children vs. The Mighty Ducks. I wonder if the Ducks will have a special play called the “flying V.” Both teams have very nice warm-ups, throwing the ball around, working on passing and catching drills, both teams talk about strategy. Both teams are very excited to be chosen as GOTW. This looks like a very competitive game. The quarterback for Antonio Chromartie Children is Alex Lee and yes, he is an amazing athlete. The Ducks quarterback is John Donnelly.
Mighty Ducks starts with the ball and on the first play of the game. John takes it himself and gets a first down with his quick speed and athletic ability. On the second play of the game he runs it again and gets another first down. The coach of Antonio Chromartie Children is talking strategy with some of his players, saying try to make the QB throw it and don’t let him run the ball; and look at that Antonio Chromartie Children are able to make him throw it and Figgs of Antonio Chromartie Children is able to pick off a pass with 7 minutes left in the first quarter. Dang, just like that the Ducks intercept the ball 3 minutes later. A few plays later John throws to Andy for a TD with about one minute left in the first quarter and Ducks go for one point, John throws to Peter for the conversion to make it 7-0 Ducks end of first quarter.
Antonio Chromartie Children have the ball to start second quarter, and wow Alex Lee is doing a good job advancing the ball down field with throws of thirty yards, then twenty yards and then finally, to cap it off, a fourteen yard throw for a completion to Figg for a touch down with five minutes left in the half, but miss the conversion so its 7-6. Ducks have the ball now and are trying to score before half time. They get it all the way to the four yard line and then just as time expires for the half John is able to have a nice spin move into the end zone, then they miss the conversion making the score 13-6.
Third quarter Antonio Chromartie Children starts with the ball, nothing exciting happens and they are forced to punt the ball away. About five minutes into the third quarter John throws to big Ben and scores a TD with a nice little spin move into the End Zone now the Ducks goes for the conversion and coverts it making the score 20-6. Antonio Chromartie Children have the ball and try to make something happen. Wayne Evans makes and amazing catch that almost got intercepted. Then Alex Lee with his amazing speed and athletic ability is able to run about thirty yards but the quarter ends before he can score. Third quarter score: 20-6 Ducks lead.
Start of fourth quarter Antonio Chromartie Children still has the possession. It looks like the Ducks may win this game, but two minutes into the quarter Alex Lee has other ideas making a nice pass to Sean Ehlbeck, the team’s captain, and makes the conversion to make the score 20-13. The Ducks are trying to score again but Antonio Chromartie Children looks to have momentum and are able to force the Ducks to punt. Antonio Chromartie Children have the ball on the their own ten yard line with about forty seconds left in the game and the score is 20-13. Here we go: Alex lee is making excellent throws of twenty yards and Antonio Chromartie Children team is getting very excited because now they have the ball on the Ducks thirty yard line with about a twenty seconds left. Time is running out for them to score, then Alex Lee makes a run for about ten yards. Now the ball is on the Ducks ten yard line with ten seconds left in the game, then Alex Lee is able to make a ten yard pass to Figgs. Let’s see if they go for the win or tie it. The coach of Antonio Chromartie Children is saying “Man lets go for the tie- no wait its intramurals lets go for the win.” It’s make or break time. Alex lee takes the snap and it looks like he is getting in trouble because the Ducks do a hard blitz of three people to try and sack Alex. However, he scrabbles all the way to mid field. Now he is in big trouble and he throws to the back of the end zone where Sean Ehlbeck is waiting. He jumps up and somehow catches the ball. Antonio Chromartie Children takes the lead 21-20, and that’s how it ended. What an exciting game it was.
It was an amazing fourth quarter having Antonio Chromartie Children coming back from 20-6. It was just amazing, defied all the odds, took momentum, marched down and scored two touchdowns and win by one point. That game definitely made my week. According to Alex Lee, it was a great team effort, and he gives credit to the other team for playing hard. On being GOTW, Alex Lee said, “It’s definitely a privilege because it was such an exciting game, and I hope there’s more like this.” According to the coach of Antonio Chromartie Children “Gotta get it done- two point conversion for the win.”
