This game is a championship game for Co-ed A division. It’s the battle of the undefeated. It’s going to be a chilly night to be playing soccer, with temperatures starting at 61 degrees dropping to 58 with 10% chance of perception 52% humidity and winds from ENE at 4 MPH, mostly clear skies. Game is scheduled for a 7 pm kickoff. Team Awesome’s record is 5-0 and Rip n’ Dip’s record is 6-0.
Rip n’ Dip have a good warm up while Team Awesome does not have a warm up. Rip n Dip starts with the kick off, however Rip n’ Dip looks to be out of sync and Team Awesome looks to be controlling the ball much of the first half. Five minutes into the game Ryan Atkinson scores upper 90 with an assist from the Amazing Harun Davood to put them up 1-0. Rip n’ Dip looks a bit tired and out of pace because they can’t seem to control the ball very well. Team Awesome is playing Awesome Offense and Defense. Ten minutes into the game The Amazing Harun with his speed, quickness and awesome skill is able to dribble to ball past Rip n’ Dip’s goalie to put up Team Awesome 2-0. About 3 minutes later Sean Kelly of Rip N Dip is able to get control of the ball and rip a rocket past Team Awesome’s goalie to make the score 2-1. Rip n’ Dip is able to control the ball more and has a chance to tie the game up before halftime; however Ryan Atkinson blocks a shot to save a goal. The Halftime score is 2-1 in favor of Team Awesome, because they are just Awesome.
During Halftime both teams talk strategy. Team Awesome talks about helping sustain the lead they have and try to pass the ball more. On the other hand, Rip n’ Dip talks strategy to find a way to shut down Team Awesome star player Harun, in essence, to score more goals.
Halftime is over and Team Awesome starts the second half with the kickoff. Rip n’ Dip is starting to look like a different team than the first half because they are controlling the ball a lot better than before. Early in this half Rip n’ Dip has another chance to tie the game, but several players from Team Awesome literally dive in front of ball. Ryan was one of the players who dove and he said, “we had to throw a body in front of it.” Several minutes into the second half Harun scores a second time unassisted giving Team Awesome a 3-1 lead. Everyone on Team Awesome is very supportive and has awesome sportsmanship. With 13 minutes left in regulation, Sean of Rip n’ Dip scores a second time making it 3-2. The second half has turned out to be very competitive and it’s going to be a nail biter, I can feel it. Then with 3 minutes left in the game Kevin Breslin is able to get the ball at about the 40 yard line and dribbles the ball all the way to score and make it 3-3, and regulation ends 3-3. So now each team will be taking Penalty Kicks; each team will be taking five PK’s. See what did I tell you about it being a nail biter?
Team Awesome will start and Ryan is first for his team, the goalie was able to block the shot.
Next is Rip n’ Dip Sean, who Misses high.
Linda Rassanti of Team Awesome misses the shot wide.

Even Though Team Awesome played awesome, it just wasn’t enough to seal the victory and Rip n’ Dip was able to rip by to win the game 4-3. Ryan had a few words after game: “We came off an unbelievable win last game, and then go up a bunch of goals against a great team and we couldn’t hold on in the end.” On being Game of the Week, he said, “It was great, and we’ve been out here so many weeks and playing so many nights, and finally getting some press was just awesome.” Rachel Micol of Rip n’ Dip said, “We just came back from half time and had a nice pep talk and were able to win. It feels pumped being game of the week and this is where all my hard work and practice and it was really exciting and pretty cool.” Freddy of Rip n’ Dip said that the team was just more motivated in the second half.
